Walter Ray Sonny Glenn

Walter Ray Sonny Glenn died Tuesday, August 9, 2005, at hi residence in Addington, Oklahoma, at the age of seventy-eight. He was born September 24, 1926, in Austin, Texas, to Ray and Elsie Glenn. He moved with his family to Corpus Christi, Texas, when he was fifteen years old. He made his home there for nearly sixty years. He moved to Addington to be near his children when he became ill four years ago. Sonny loved his family dearly. He also loved sports, especially baseball and softball. He enjoyed playing pool.

Survivors include: one son - Ronnie and his wife Sue Glenn of Waurika, OK; one daughter - Glenda and her husband Richard Boldin of Denton, TX; a son-in-law - Bill McDaniel of Comanche, OK; the mother of his children - Mary Glenn, of the home in Addington, OK; five grandchildren - Polly Van Houton and Penny Mildren, both of Duncan, OK, Sunny and Sam Parr of Denton, TX, and Lindsi Glenn of Waurika, OK; eight great-grandchildren - Stephanie and Emily Van Houten of Duncan, OK, Amanda Keith and Hunter Mildren, also of Duncan, OK, Ty and Tate Allen of McKinney, TX, and Kobe Gale and Kassandra Ray of Denton, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends, including his coffee drinking friends at Hop & Sack in Comanche, Oklahoma.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Ann, his daughter Sandra McDaniel, and two grandsons, Roger Keith and Dwayne Mildren.

Funeral services for Walter Ray Sonny Glenn were at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 12, 2005, at the Patterson Avenue Baptist Church in Comanche, Oklahoma, with Bro. Billy Morgan offciating. Burial was in the Addington Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of SW Oklahoma, 1930 Ferris, Lawton, Oklahoma, 73501.
