Woodie A. Hensley was born September 17, 1913 to Coy and Melissa Davis Hensley in Burneyville, Oklahoma. He passed from this life Wednesday, July 25, 2001, in his home in Comanche, Oklahoma at the age of 87.

Woodie married Vesper Weldon on September 13, 1941, in Duncan, OK. He worked in the oil field. He was a truck driver from a gas company and he worked for Stephens County for seven years.

He is survived by his wife, Vesper, of Comanche; one brother, Cecil Cat Hensley of Comanche; one sister, Cricket Spencer of Comanche; several nieces and nephews; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services were held Saturday, July 28, 2001, at 11:00 AM at the Methodist Church in Comanche with James Kim officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
