Willie Joe Houston

Willie Joe "Bill" Houston was born August 9, 1937 in Waurika, Oklahoma to Curtis and Alma Clayton Houston. He passed from this life Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Jefferson County Hospital at the age of 76.

He served his country in the United States Navy. He worked as a chef for the Country Club in Bowie, Texas and in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He also worked for JR's truck stop. He loved to play golf and watch it on television. He also loved to watch the OU Sooners and Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his children - Kathy Ann Gatton and husband Ron, Danny Joe Houston, Sheryl Langford, Billy Joe Houston and wife Shalena, and Teresa Russell and husband Jimmie, sisters - Frances Michel, Dollie Jones, Nan Suggs, and Rebecca Rice and husband Harril, five grandchildren and one great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother - J.P. Houston, son - Jerry, and son in law - Robert Langford.

Funeral service will be Saturday February 1, 2014 at 3PM at Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika. Visitation will be Friday from 10AM-7PM and Saturday from 10AM-3PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Jefferson County Hospital or the VFW.
