Wiley O'Neal Ted Gunter was born April 9, 1911, in Montague, Texas to William Thomas and Annette Gunter. Ted passed from this life Friday, October 5, 2001, at the Nocona Hospital at the age of 90.

He and Lydia Martin were married August 25, 1929, in Montague, Texas. She preceded him in death in 1976. Ted was a truck driver and farmer. He was a lifelong member of the Terral Assembly of God Church, as well as a deacon and song leader.

Ted is survived by: two daughters - Freta Brown of Grand Prairie, TX; and June Vanover of Terral, OK; one sister - Sybil Gunter of Ryan, OK; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, five brothers, and one sister.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 8, 2001, at the Terral Assembly of God Church with Bro. Parker and Bro. Beckman officiating. Burial was in the Terral Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Terral.
