William David W.D.Davis passed from this life Tuesday, August 28, 2007, at the Nocona General Hospital at the age of eighty-two. He was born February 7, 1925, to Harry and Lovina Tolley Davis in Colbert, Oklahoma. He served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the American Legion. He married Virginia Maness April 13, 1946, in Montague County, Texas, and to this union three children were born, David, Donnie, and Reta.

Surivovors include: his wife, Virginia, of the home in Ryan, OK; one son David of Comanche, OK; one daughter Reta Story of Haltom City, TX; four grandchildren - Rebecca and her husband David Yaeger of Tucson, AZ, Jeff Davis and his wife Dana of Comanche, OK, Darrell Davis and Cindy Sanders of Comanche, OK, and Derrick Davis and his wife Hannah of Haslet, TX; four great-grandchildren - Bradley Davis and Jacob Davis, and Davy and Jonathan Yaeger; one brother Leroy Helloms and his wife Sarah of Waurika, OK; six sisters - Elberta Maness of Waurika, OK, Dora and her husband Chick Green of Nocona, TX, Joanne and her husband Lonnie Johnson of Ryan, OK, Ardelia Robbins of Henrietta, TX, Lucille Lawson of Ryan, OK, and Ruth and her husband Weldon Thomas of Ryan, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father Jim Helloms, one son, Donnie Davis, brothers Ray and Pete Helloms, and sister Freda Doyal.

Funeral services for Mr. Davis were at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 30, 2007, at the Assembly of God Church in Ryan, Oklahoma, with Rev. Paul Ratliff and Rev. Curtis Plant officiating. Burial was in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Assembly of God Church in Ryan.
