Wade Hampton Large

Wade Hampton Large passed from this life on Thursday, July 11, 2002, in Wilkins Nursing Home in Duncan, Oklahoma at the age of eighty-five. He was born November 1, 1916, to Simon and May Sanders Large, in Knox City, Texas. Mr. Large was a farmer and worked for an auto salvage company. He and Sarah were united in marriage on June 13, 1960.

Survivors include: his wife, Sarah Large, of Duncan, OK; one son, Tracy Large of Empire, Oklahoma; three step-sons - Charles Arnold of Midwest City, OK, John Arnold of Duncan, OK, and Jim Arnold; three step-daughters - Beulah Courter of Carthage, MO, Rose Ann Hayashi of Snohomish, WA, and Nancy Kester of Del City, OK; two brothers - Dale Large of Knox City, TX, and Coleman Large of Gainesville, TX; one sister, Fannie Mae Johnson of Knox City, TX; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Simon Peter and Mae Sanders Large, two sons - Trenton and Roy Large, three brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services for Mr. Large were held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 13, 2002, at Fair Baptist Church with David Spangler officiating. Burial was in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fair Baptist Church Building Fund or to the American Heart Association.
