Virginia Davis
Virginia Juanita "Maness" Davis, 89, of Ryan, Oklahoma, passed from this life February 7, 2015 in Meridian, Oklahoma. She was born August 5, 1925, in Browns Chapel, Oklahoma, to Oscar and Eufaula "Maness" Williams.
She married William David (W.D.) Davis in Montague County on April 13, 1946. Virginia was the office manager for Bartling Insurance, Grantham Funeral Home, Grantham-Worley Funeral Home, and Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan. She started working for the Grantham's in her early 20's and continued working through many changes in the funeral business into her 80's. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church where she served as church secretary/treasurer for over 40 years. Virginia loved her job, church, and most of all, her family.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband W.D. Davis, two sons - David Davis and Donnie Davis, one brother Robert Williams, one sister Dorothy Whitaker, and two baby sisters Bertha Mae and Bessie Jane.
Survivors include: one daughter Reta Story – Flores and her husband Tony Flores of Dallas, TX; two brothers - Otis Williams of Marlow and Jesse Williams of Ryan, OK, one sister Rosa Duncan of Comanche, OK, grandchildren -Jeff Davis and wife Dana, Darrell Davis and Jody Butler Moss, Derrick Davis and wife Hannah; great-grandchildren - Bradley, and Jacob and Ryan, Aidan, Audrey and Augustus.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at the Assembly of God Church in Ryan with Bro. Paul Ratliff and Bro. David McGhghy officiating. Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Ryan on Monday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ryan Assembly of God Church.
