Viola Impson Smith was born August 2, 1905, to Isaac and Lillie Driver Impson and passed from this life October 5, 2003.
Our darling Mother was a beautiful lady. She was a devout Christian, deeply in love with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Approximately seventy years ago she gave her heart and life to God, and since that time, her greatest desire was to serve Him in the fullest. She was a charter member of the Comanche Assembly of God Church, where she served a number of years as teacher of the young people's Sunday school class and in other capacities of the church. In latter years, she attended the Ray of Hope Church as her health allowed. Although she was a quiet person, she had a heart of love that spoke volumes. Her Bible was her constant companion. She was a peacemaker and a woman of intercessory prayer.
Mother was devoted to her family, loving her husband of more than fifty years until his death in 1976, adoring her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson, teaching us of Jesus' love and being a Christian example. She also had a special love for her parents, siblings, and extended family.
She never won an Emmy, Oscar or Grammy. Her earthly reward was knowing that all her children were Christians. Her eternal reward is her Heavenly Father saying "Well done, Thou good and faithful servant...enter into the joy of the Lord."
Mother is now gone to that beautiful heavenly home where there is no more sorrow, free from all the pain that she suffered in this life. She is with Jesus, her Lord, and with her loved ones who have gone on before her.
