Victory Vale Long

Victory Vale Long was born December 21,1942 in Lubbock, Texas to Les and Mamie (Morris) Long. He passed from this life Sunday, February 28, 2021 at his home in Ryan at the age of 78. He served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Long worked in the oilfield in his younger years as a Roughneck. Later in life he was a carpenter and bricklayer. He enjoyed working in his shop and building things for family and friends. He and Wanda Lou Fuller were married November 28, 1967 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

He is survived by his wife Wanda of the home in Ryan, three stepdaughters; Susie Brown and husband Sammy of Ryan, Oklahoma, JoAnn Knight of Ryan, Oklahoma, Sandy Knight and husband Roy of Bengal, Oklahoma, two stepsons; David Dabbs and wife Short of Ryan, Oklahoma and Randy Vaden and wife Olga of Vernon, Texas, 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 21 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers; Cecil, Luke, Darvin, Leslie, and Danny Long, 3 sisters; Mamie Lou Sandford, Barbara Adkinson, and Dorothy Jordan, stepdaughter; Louise Knight and stepson Lewie (Sonny) Dabbs.

Graveside service will be Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 2:00PM at the Ryan Cemetery. Visitation will be at Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan from 10AM-1:30PM Tuesday.
