Vester Brantley, Jr., passed away July 24, 2002, in Midland, Texas, at the age of eighty. He was born on February 19, 1922, in Waurika, Oklahoma, to Vester and Dora Morrison Brantley. He married Trula Jean Strutton of Duncan, Oklahoma, on February 19, 1944. Mrs. Brantley preceded him in death in 1966, after fifty-two years of marriage.
Mr. Brantley was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Corps. He began his career with Mobil Oil Company in Duncan, Oklahoma and retired from Mobil in 1982, in Midland, Texas, after thirty-five years of service. During his career with Mobil Oil, Vester and Jean lived in Duncan, Midland, and Houston, Texas. He enjoyed fishing and golf.
Survivors include: a daughter - Sharon Mullins and her husband Maxey of Midland, TX; and a son - Jerry Brantley and his wife Trish of Lubbock, TX; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Burial services were held for Mr. Brantley at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 27, 2002, at the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
