Comanche native Verbie Louise
(Lynch) Best, 75, of Manitou Springs, CO, died Sunday, May 20,2001,
at Mesa, AZ. Services were held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 26,
2001, at the Comanche First Baptist Church with Bruce Humphries
officiating. Burial, under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home
of Comanche, was in Fairlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Best was born October 25, 1925, in Comanche. She was a secretary
for various organizations, including the Bank of Manitou and First
Federal Savings. She was also director of the Cheyenne Mountain
Zoo.|
She married Earl Best in Bastrop, TX, on December 10, 1944.
Survivors include: her husband, Earl, of the home; a daughter,
Jeanie Schekel of Camas, WA; a brother, Gene Lynch of Duncan,
OK; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edward
Lynch.
