Vera Lucille Holloway, of Comanche, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, September 12, 2003, at Duncan Regional Hospital at the age of eighty-eight. She was born to James Walter and Susan Alice Towell Tilley on November 16, 1914, in rural Comanche, Oklahoma.

Vera and Frank Leslie Holloway were married August 12, 1934, at Comanche, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death September 9, 1970. To union four daughters and one son were born. Mrs. Holloway was a member of Meridian First Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors include: three daughters - Melba Lois Coursey of Frederick, OK, Gracie Lanell Dennard of Duncan, OK, and Linda Ruth Woods of Comanche, OK; one son - Jimmie Leslie Holloway of Rockwall, TX; three brothers - James Lloyd Tilley of Wilmer, TX, G.L. Tilley of Marlow, OK, and Melvin Clayton Tilley of Andover, KS; one sister - Susan Ernestine Pitts of Bolivar, MO; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Holloway was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Virginia Pauline Holloway, and one brother, Doyle Tilley.

Funeral services for Mrs. Holloway were at 10:00 AM, Monday, September 15, 2003, at the Meridian First Baptist Church with Pastor Rusty Canoy officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
