Velva Ruth Gandy was born April 7, 1910, in Beaver, Oklahoma, to W.P. and Rosa J. Zinn. She passed from this life Wednesday, August 8, 2001, at the Westbrook Nursing Home in Waurika, Oklahoma.

Velva Ruth married H.R. Bud Gandy on February 10, 1942, in Oklahoma City, OK. Mrs. Gandy was in the ASC office before owning and operating Gandy's Flowers. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Weatherford, OK.

She is survived by: her husband, H.R. Gandy of Waurika, OK; three sons - Bob Gandy of Wichita Falls, TX, Bud Gandy of San Clemente, CA, and Gary Gandy of Waurika; one daughter - Veldean Reynolds of Marlow, OK; one brother - Domby Zinn of Oklahoma City, OK; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.

Graveside services were held Saturday, August 11, 2001, at 10:00 AM at the Marlow Cemetery in Marlow, OK with Reed Montgomery officiating, under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
