Velda Nell Gaines

Velda Nell Gaines was born November 14, 1947 in Terral, Oklahoma to Adam Lee "Lebo" and Nellie Belle Hall Duncan. She passed from this life September 5, 2013 at her home in Waurika at the age of 65.

She and Don Foster Gaines were married March 25, 1972 in Dallas, Texas. Velda worked for KLUR and Q102 for many years. She enjoyed painting,reading, gardening, and writing for the Ryan Leader. She was a member of Addington Baptist Church.

She is survived by her beloved dog - Bebe, children - Cory Gaines, Carol Caye Olds, and Laura Lynn Mellencamp, siblings - Gary Duncan, Carrie Belle Sheffield, and Rick Duncan, grandchildren -Foster Dale, Harley Dawn, Audrey Lee, and Paisley Ann Gaines, Cayla Lauren, Ethan Van, and Catherine Caye Olds, Jagar Lee and Slyder John Mellencamp.
