Velda Susie Beaver Elkins went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 19, 2006. Susie was born July 11, 1923, to Sam and Lizzie Green in Waurika, Oklahoma. She spent her childhood days in and around Waurika, attending school in Sugden. She married Jap Beaver in 1942, who preceded her in death in January of 1964. In December of 1966 she married Bryant Elkins, who also preceded her in death in 2002.

Susie loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She especially loved large family gatherings and cooking for everyone. Susie was loved by all and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Duncan, Oklahoma.

Survivors include: five children - a son Jerry and Hollye Beaver of McAlester, OK, and four daughters - Cheryl and Steve Moreland of Colleyville, TX, Terry and Keith Kelman of Lawton OK, Lynn and Pratt Wauqua of Elgin, OK, and Hope and Neal Rollins of Menasha, WI; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters - Reva Booth of Duncan, OK, and Loma Dilks of Burkburnett, TX; a brother-in-law - Jim Armstrong of Ryan, OK; a sister-in-law - Dena Mumper of Duncan, OK; six nieces and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, her parents, two little brothers, and two sisters.

Memorial services for Mrs. Elkins were at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 24, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church in Waurika, Oklahoma.
