Valrie Victoria Hughes

Valrie Victoria Hughes was born March 5, 1923 in Burkburnett, Texas to Ethel (Waggoner) and Bryan Brady. She passed from this life Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in Ardmore at the age of eighty-eight. Valrie graduated from Irving High School in Irving, Oklahoma.
Valrie and James D. Hughes were married July 30, 1942 in Dallas, Texas. He preceded her in death May 3, 2010.
Valrie was a homemaker and very active in her younger years as a volunteer for various organizations. She enjoyed doing for others. She was active in her church teaching Sunday School at First Baptist East in Lawton and she also helped with meals on wheels.

She is survived by her daughter - Connie Townsend of Muskogee, Oklahoma, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James and daughter Sandra White.

Funeral service will be Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 10:00AM at the Irving Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Rhone officiating. Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan. Visitation will be Friday from noon - 6PM at Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan (612 Washington).
