Valerie Sue Darling was born January 29, 1953, to Amy and Robert Miller in Bethany, Oklahoma, and passed from this life on Tuesday, November 12, 2002, at 3:30 PM at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of forty-nine.

Valerie was a 1971 graduate of Healdton High School and attended Oklahoma University for two years. She married Mike Darling in Healton, Oklahoma, September 29, 1973. They made their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma for three years. They moved to Comanche, Oklahoma in 1976. Valerie was employed by WalMart from 1995 through 1999. She enjoyed visiting and making friends locally and worldwide.

Survivors include: her husband Mike, of the home in Comanche, OK; one son, Jason Darling of Oklahoma City, OK, one daugher, Cassondra Darling of Everett, WA; two brothers, Bobby and his wife Mindy of Richmond, TX, and Matthew and his wife Debbie of Sweeney, TX; one sister, Brenda Karns of Johnson City, TN; and many close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Richard.

Memorial services were held for Mrs. Darling at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 15, 2002, at the First Baptist Church in Comanche with Rev. Gary Smith and Dow Pannell officiating. Services were under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
