Thomas Cecil Hooper

Thomas Cecil Hooper, fifty-one, passed from this life Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at the Veterans' Center in Oklahom City, Oklahoma. Cecil was born January 28, 1956, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Lester Hopkins and Loda May Hooper Hopkins. Cecil served his country in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam. He and Katherine Irene Thomas were married July 2, 2005, in Duncan, Oklahoma. He was a truck driver. He was a member of the Duncan DFW Post 1192, the American Legion in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Homeland Security in Ryan, Oklahoma.

Survivors include: his wife Katherine Irene Hooper of the home in Ryan, OK; his mother Loda Hopkins Uplinger of Comanche, OK; two sons - William Lester Stretch of Decatur, MI, and Thomas Eugene Stretch, Jr. of Altus, OK; three daughters - Savannah Rian Stretch of Ryan, OK, Micah Rae Blair of Comanche, OK, and Dana Erin Stretch of Snider, OK; three brothers - Albert Ray Hopkins of Comanche, OK, Larry Keith Hopkins of Duncan, OK, and William Perry Hopkins of Odessa, TX; three sisters - Leslie Kay and her husband David Greenwood of Edmond, OK, Ruthina Alene Stanley of Duncan, OK, and Patricia Ann Kennedy of Odessa, TX; and four grandchildren - Colby Michael Thomas Burton, Wyatt Virgil Engles, Justice Blaze Switzer, and Morgan Gage Elliott.

He was preceded in death by his stepdad William Lester Hopkins, stepsister Helen Reynolds, his grandparents James and Ethel Hooper, and his niece Vanna Kay Sears.

Funeral services for Mr. Hooper were at 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 4, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Ryan, Oklahoma, with Rev. Roger Ledford and Rev. Jason Vance officiating. Burial was in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan. Memorial contributions may be made to the First State Bank in Ryan in memory of Cecil Hooper.
