Thelma Louise Schaffner was born November 8, 1925, in Three Sands, Oklahoma to Viren E. and Gladys E. Satterfield Pinnick. She passed from this life Sunday, January 28, 2007, in Waurika at the age of eighty-one. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waurika. She was a private caretaker and a homemaker. She also worked for Haggar for many years. She and Herman Schaffner were married October 5, 1947, in Byers, Texas. They were blessed with five children.

Survivors include: her children – Jim Schaffner and his wife Terri of Burleson, TX, Sam Schaffner and his wife Connie of Wichita Falls, TX, Becky and her husband John Duncan of Middleburg, FL, and Joanna and her husband Mike Dyer of Waurika, OK; ten grandchildren - Bernice, J.J., Shannon, Stephanie, Jared, Jeremy, Rachel, Shawn, Karen, and Jason; and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son - John Daniel Schaffner, one brother - James Leroy Pinnick, and two sisters – Maybelle Pinnick and Margorie Delean Gardner.

Funeral services for Mrs. Schaffner were at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 1, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Waurika with Rev. Kelly Martin officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Waurika or to Waurika Good Samaritan.
