Thelma Faye Williams Hinsley was born October 13, 1907, in Wise County,Texas, to Jesse L. and Clara L. Gass Whetsell. Thelma passed from this life Friday, September 27, 2002, at the Ryan Nursing Home at the age of ninety-four. She married J.D. Williams on December 22, 1927. He preceded her in death April 19, 1968. She married Howard Hinsley in 1990, in Nocona, Texas. He preceded her in death July 12, 1999. Thelma was a homemaker and she and J.D. also farmed for many years until his death in 1968. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Terral, Oklahoma.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Pernell Williams of Ryan, OK; one daughter and son-in-law, Dewanda and Joe Bailey McKinley of Wichita Falls, TX; two brothers - Foy Dale Whetsell of Yuma, AZ, and Ray Whetsell of Havana, IL; six grandchildren - Denis Green, Kevin Green, Kyle Nickerson, Darron Williams, Chad Williams, and Kimbra Williams; and three great-grandchildren - Rachel Green, Whitney Green and Brandi Williams.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, J.D. and Howard, and one daughter, Zionzell Nickerson Schmidt, on July 9, 1991.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hinsley were at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 29, 2002, at the Terral First Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Haynie officiating. Burial was in the Terral Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Terral. Pallbearers were the grandchildren.
