Thelma Ruth Flanagan

Thelma Ruth Flanagan was born May 24, 1918, at Cement, Oklahoma, to Frank N. and Dora Burbank Pfeffer. She passed from this life Wednesday, August 24, 2005, in her home, at the age of eighty-seven. A member of the Church of Christ since 1930, Mrs. Flanagan attended Prairie Hill Church of Christ since 1949, where she taught youg children's Bible classes, helped with Vacation Bible School and the ladies project until her health failed. She was a graduate of Cement High School and attended Cameron and Southwest Colleges. On January 8, 1942, she and Rayburn V. Flanagan were married in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Upon returning to Oklahoma, they lived in Cement, Chickasha, and Walters before moving to the Meridian community in 1949. She was a homemaker but had done secretarial and income tax preparation work.

Survivors include her daugher Jean and her husband Jack Penn of Duncan, OK.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother, and a son, Kenneth R. Flanangan.

Funeral services for Mrs. Flanagan will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 27, 2005, at the Prairie Hill Church of Christ with Barry Haynes, Northwest Church of Christ, Lawton OK, officiating. Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche. Visitation will be Thursday, 9:00 AM-9:00 PM and Friday, 9:00 AM -9:00 PM at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Comanche.
