Jewel Ted Etheridge

Jewel "Ted" Etheridge was born May 9, 1943 in Abiline, Texas to Jewel Lee and Ethel Smelser Etheridge. He passed from this life Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at his home in Duncan.

Ted was a 1961 Comanche High School graduate. Ted joined the US Navy in 1964. He retired as Senior Chief Petty Officer after 20 years of service to his country. He came home to Duncan to work at ODOT from which he also retired after 20 years.

He is survived by his children - Gerald Etheridge and wife Ronda of Duncan, Susan Etheridge and husband Kyle of Duncan, Jerretta Davidson and husband Terry of Comanche and LaResa Sanders of Duncan, Thumper Morris and wife Megan of Jacksonville, Texas and Greg Caton of Oregon. He is also survived by two sisters, numerous nephews and numerous grandchildren.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, wife Louise Marie Andal in 1997 and wife Virginia Kay Justus in 2009.

Funeral service will be Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 10:00AM at Patterson Avenue Baptist Church in Comanche with Dow Pannell and Gary Thurman officiating. Burial will be in the Graham Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Visitation will be from 10AM-8PM Friday at the funeral home in Waurika.
