Sandra Elaine Whitford Monette, 46, of Burgettstown; Jefferson Township; passed away on Monday morning, August 24, 2020 after a courageous fight with cancer.
She was born on February 23, 1974 in Waurika, OK a daughter of Wayne and Sara Ruiz Whitford of Ryan, OK.
A 1992 Graduate of the Ryan High School, she earned her degree from Cameron University working in various agencies until becoming a substitute teacher and paraprofessional with the Burgettstown Area School District since 2014. She greatly enjoyed all the students and the young lives she impacted and everyone she worked with.
Sandy was an active parishioner of the Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Burgettstown where she taught C.C.D. and volunteered whenever needed, especially making pierogies and the Lenten Fish Fries.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her loving husband Lukus James Monette who she married on October 21, 1996; her three adored children Gage Douglas, Aurora Reah and Gaetan Archer Monette, all at home; her brother James Whitford and sister Veronica Wyatt both of OK; mother-in-law Betty Underwood Kaufmann of Burgettstown and father-in-law James Monette of Danbury, CT.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday in the Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday August 29, 2020 in Our Lady of Lourdes Church of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish in Burgettstown, with the Rev. Zachary Galiyas as Celebrant.
Immediately concluding the Funeral Mass on Saturday, everyone is invited to the Langeloth Community Center for a luncheon and continuation of fellowship. In keeping with state requirements, all guests visiting the funeral home are required to wear face masks and practice social distancing.
Additional visitation and interment with Committal Services will follow in Ryan, OK.

Graveside service will be Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 10AM at Ryan Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7PM Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan.
