Samuel Callen Sam Brown of Ryan, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2001, at the age of 94. He was born September 12, 1907, to Walter and Nancy Brown in Procter, Texas. He attended school iin Rush Springs and also helped on the family farm there. In 1959, he moved to the Ryan and Terral area, working on farms in those areas.

Survivors include: one son - Sammy Brown, and his wife Susie, of Ryan, OK; two daughters - Carol Hamel, and her husband Vic, of Ryan, OK, and Charlotte Brown, also of Ryan, OK; two brothers - B.T. Brown of Pampa, TX, and J.C. Brown of Amarillo, TX; one sister - Ruby Smith of Alaska; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Mr. Brown is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers and two sisters.

Services were held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 20, 2001, at the First Baptist Church in Ryan, OK, with Randy Allen officiating. Burial was in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan.
