Ruthie Emmaline Holdbrook was born December 5, 1938 in Davenport, Iowa to Howard and Bernice Buttenbach Tyler. Ruthie passed from this life Saturday, December 16, 2006. at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton at the age of sixty-eight. Ruthie and Don Holdbrook were married January 12, 1994. in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was a homemaker and loved to work outside in the yard. She attended the Assembly of God Church in Temple.

Survivors include: her husband, Don, of the home; one daughter - Armelta and her husband David Briggs of West Palm Beach, FL; one step-daughter - Sharon Durey and her son Cody; one brother - Jim Tyler and his wife Laverne of Gaston, AL; one sister - Louise and her husband Bill Shubert of Waterloo, IA; and four grandchildren - Shawn Briggs, Stacey and her husband Brock Tibbs, Michael Briggs, and Tarina Briggs.

Funeral services for Mrs. Holdbrook were at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 18, 2006, at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika, Oklahoma, with Pastor David Briggs officiating. Burial was in the Hastings Cemetery, under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hastings Baptist Church.
