Ruth Marie Head was born January 2, 1923, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to Hugh and Freda McIntire. Ruth passed from this life Wednesday, March 22, 2006, in Edmond, Oklahoma, at the age of eighty-three. She and Richard Franklin Head were married November 22, 1948. in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1995. Ruth and Richard owned and operated H&H Oil Company. Ruth was a homemaker and mother extraordinaire. She was a member of the Sorosis Club and Bridge Club. She was also a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include: three sons - Frank Head of Waurika, OK, Mike Head of Marietta, GA, and Bill Head of Edmond, OK; two daughters - Mary Head Guditis of Columbia, SC, and Nancy Head Kever of Edmond, OK; one brother - Harbon McIntire of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister - Virginia Smyth of Atlanta, GA; and twelve grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister Natalie.

Funeral services for Mrs. Head were at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 26, 2006, at the United Methodist Church in Waurika with Rev. Trevor Smith officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Memorial contributions may be made to the Angel Home Health Care Service in Waurika, Oklahoma.
