Ruth Flodell Franklin was born June 14, 1924 in Brock, Oklahoma to Early and Maggie Robins Kersey. She passed from this life Saturday, December 20, 2008 at United Regional Health Care in Wichita Falls at the age of eighty-four. She and Emmette Spencer Franklin were married October 14, 1942 in Blair, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death March 2, 2007. She was a homemaker and also worked for Robertson's Draperies and as an aide for the Nursing Home. She attended Hastings Baptist Church and she enjoyed playing dominoes.
She is survived by her children Ann Staack and husband Don Manning of Pumpkin Center, OK., Paul Franklin of Pumpkin Center, OK., and Barbara and her husband Darrel Adair of Putnam, OK., and Kay Duby of Hastings, OK., son-in-law Mike Duby of Waurika; seven grandchildren -Mieka Duby and husband David, Brandon Staack, Marc Franklin, Daniel Adair, Jeannie Adair, Shawna Duby and Shelly Bassham; five great-grandchildren- Katelyn Duby, Trinity Bassham, Ty Bassham, Bradley Duby, and Hayden Ramsey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Emmette, nine brothers and sisters, one son Jesse Clyde Franklin, and one granddaughter Madelyn Duby.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 22, 2008 at 10:30AM at the First Christian Church with Rev. Curtis Plant officiating. Burial will be in the Hastings Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika.
