Ronnie Kent Porterfield was born September 26, 1944, in Claypool, Oklahoma to Barney H. and Minnie Lee Golightly Porterfield. Ronnie passed from this life on Sunday, January 19, 2003, in his home, at the age of fifty-eight. Ronnie was a retired farmer and trucker and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: two sons - Michael Kent, and Brent Duane; one daughter - Denise Reneé; three brothers - James and his wife JoeAnna of Waurika, OK, Don and his wife Norma of Waurika, OK, and Floyd and his wife Ida Nell of Burkburnett, TX; ten sisters - Grace Porterfield of Wichita Falls, TX, Diana Porterfield of Waurika, OK, Nona Porterfield of Wichita Falls, TX, Myrtle Porterfield of Waurika, OK, Debbie Porterfield of Wichita Falls, TX, Vicki Porterfield of Garland, TX, Linda Porterfield, Linda Overton, and her husband Don of Waurika, June Can, Joan Lovett and her husband Ceburn of Waurika, OK, and Lenora Yenzer and her husband Gorcent of Crecent.

His children blessed him with three grandchildren - Jordan, Dawson, and Brianna. They were the light of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Minnie, and one brother, Jack.

Graveside services for Ronnie were at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 23, 2003, at the Waurika Cemetery with Rev. Audie Dorrough officiating. Services were under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
