Roger Don Gunter, fifty-nine, of Ryan, Oklahoma, passed from this life Friday, August 10, 2007. He was born November 4, 1947, in Bowie, Texas, to O.S. and Dovie Locke Gunter. He and Linda Gail Williams were married November 2, 1971, in Henrietta, Texas. Tragically, she also passed from this life August 10, 2007. The couple lived in Terral, Oklahoma until 1984, when they moved to Ryan. He worked for Halliburton. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and was a retired volunteer fireman.

Mr. Gunter was preceded in death by his parents and one brother - Billy Bob Gunter.

Survivors include: one son - Doug Gunter and his wife Tara of Waurika, OK; two daughters - Janie and her husband Bill Bolin of Ryan, OK, and Tobi and her husband Jeff Weist of Ryan, OK; one brother - A.W. Dutch Gunter of Euless, TX; one sister - Oteaka Russell of Terral, OK; and seven grandchildren - Tylr Gunter, Garrett Bolin, Paige Bolin, Abbie Bolin, Pacen Wiest, Zachary Wiest, and Michaela Wiest.

Funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Gunter will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 13, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Ryan with Rev. Bob Waitman and Rev. Jason Vance officiating. Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan. Pallbearers will be Rusty Weatherly, Larry Keys, Ray Robnett, Ocie Bob Overstreet, David Underwood, and Jack Savage. Honorary pallbearers will be Pop's Team - Garrett Bolin, Zachary Wiest, Morgan West, Larimey Curtis, Ben Barrett, Tyler Brown, Gage Brown, Zane Seay, Grayson Seay, Jacob Sewell, and Fulton Villarreal.
