Robert Lee Huff

Robert Lee Huff was born July 10, 1923, in Brownfield, Texas, to Elder B.L. and Vonnie Huff. He passed from this life Tuesday, November 4, 2003, in the Ryan Nursing Home at the age of eighty. Mr. Huff was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Grandfield, Oklahoma. He attended school in Doss, Texas and later in Ryan, Oklahoma, where he graduated high school in 1941. He then attended and graduated from watchmaking school. Robert was a World War II veteran and served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Franks Destroyer. He met Ruby Miracle at Primitive Baptist Association in Charlie, Texas, in 1941. They were united in marriage on May 7, 1945, in Frederick, Oklahoma. For a while they lived in Weatherford and Snyder, Oklahoma, before moving to Ryan in 1959, where they made their family home. They owned Huff's Jewelry and have maintained the business to the present date. In addition, they also owned and operated the Gem Theatre in Ryan for several years.

Survivors include: two daughters - Barbara Burton of Tulsa, OK, and Diane Breeze of Ryan, OK; two sons - Allen Huff of Oklahoma City, OK, and Terry Huff of Piedmont, OK; one sister - Ena Mae Gunter of Binger, OK; five granddaughters; four grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of good friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife Ruby Huff, parents Elder B.L. and Vonnie Huff, and one son, Roy Franklin Huff.

Funeral services for Mr. Huff were at 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 6, 2003, at the Ryan First Baptist Church with Dale Turner and Mark Hasenmyer officiating. Burial was in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan.
