Robert A. House

Robert A. House was born May 17, 1932, in Desoto, Missouri, to Estel Van and Gwendolyn Ruth House. Mr. House passed from this life Wednesday, February 12, 2003, at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton, at the age of seventy. He married Merle Baughman on August 30, 1952, in Wichita Falls, Texas. They spent their married life in Oklahoma and Missouri. Mr. House served in the Army from February 8, 1951, to November 9, 1952, serving in the Korean War. He received the Bronze Star. He was employed in the construction field and owned his own construction business from 1971 until his retirement in 1986. He loved to fish and hunt.

Survivors include: his wife, Merle, of the home in Comanche, OK; one son - Ronald and his wife Janie Smithson of Comanche, OK; two daughters - Sue Ann Barmettler of Cache, OK and Catherine Crowl of Comanche, OK; two brothers; two sisters; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his mother, his father, and six brothers and sisters.

Graveside services for Mr. House were at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 14, 2003, at the Addington Cemetery with Melvin Anderson officiation. Burial was under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
