Richard T. Stout

Richard T. Stout was born April 19, 1944 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Ruth E. (Hill) and John Thomas Stout. He passed from this life on August 11, 2010 in Waurika at the age of sixty-six. He served his country in the National Guard. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Waurika. He worked in Law Enforcement for many years, serving as Jefferson County Sherriff for eight years, for the U.S. Marshall's office, and the Texas Department of Corrections. He was also a farmer/rancher. Richard was a member of the Oklahoma Sherriff's Association. He and Latreta Dean were married June 5, 1964 in Waurika, Oklahoma.

He is survived by his wife Latreta of the home in Waurika, son - David Stout and wife Christy of Munday, Texas, daughter - Crystal Hinshaw and husband Dr. Steve Hinshaw of Waurika, two sisters - Melba Howerton of Duncan and Helen Williams of Cushing, grandchildren - Lauren and Brooklyn Stout, Alex, Bailey, and Heath Hinshaw and Heather and Rebecca Hinshaw.

Richard adored his family especially his grandchildren, they were so special to him. He never met a stranger and will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services for Richard will be Sunday, August 15, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Waurika at 2:30 with Rev. Mike Bernhardt offficiating. Burial will be in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Viewing will be 10AM-8PM Saturday. Family will receive visitors from 4-5PM Saturday. Memorials may be made to the Hastings Cemetery Fund, American Heart Association, or the American Diabetes Foundation.
