Rex R. Freeman, Sr.

Rex R. Freeman, Sr., passed away Sunday, January 4, 2004, at the Jefferson County Hospital at the age of ninety. Mr. Freeman was born October 1, 1913, in Hastings, Oklahoma to Van Ryan and Anabel Lee Freeman. Mr. Freeman served his country in the United States Navy. He was a mail carrier in Hastings for more than twenty years. He was a member of the Waurika United Methodist Church.

He and Marguerite Marie Meeks were married August 25, 1941, in Hastings, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death October 23, 2001.

Survivors include: one son - Rex R. Buddy Freeman, Jr. of Duncan, OK; two daughters - Carolyn Arnold of Key Biscayne, FL, and Jeanne Criss of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister - Myra Loyce Griffin of Crosby, TX; grandchildren - Lyndon D. Arnold, Douglas R. Arnold, Susanna Arnold Raffey, John Robert Douglas, and Megan M. Criss; and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Freeman were at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at the Waurika United Methodist Church with Reed Montgomery officiating. Burial was in the Hastings Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Memorial contributions may be made to the Waurika United Methodist Church or the Hastings Cemetery Fund.
