Reuben Olen O'Neal passed from this life Sunday, November 16, 2003, at Duncan Regional Hospital, at the age of seventy-nine. He was born January 8, 1924, in Prairie Points, Texas to Jacob and Thelma O'Neal. Reuben and Ethel Naomi were united in marriage on November 28, 1953, in Ada, Oklahoma. Mr. O'Neal served his country in World War II. He retired from Rock Island Railroad. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was active in the Waurika VFW.
Survivors include: two sons - Gerald Jones of Temple, OK, and Rick O'Neal of Duncan, OK; three daughters - Sandra Koomsa of Waurika, OK, Penny Vaughn of Broken Bow, OK, and Nicole Bernard of Duncan, OK; one brother - John O'Neal of Wichita Falls, TX; two sisters - Ruthie Collins of Ft Worth, TX, and Hattie Parker of Ft Worth, TX; and five grandchildren Jason and April O'Neal, Natasha and Ricky Ray O'Neal, Jr. and Roslyn Natalia Bernard.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ethel O'Neal, his parents, and one son, Charles O'Neal.
Funeral services for Mr. O'Neal were at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 19, 2003, in the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika, Oklahoma, with Charles Bernard officiating. Burial was in the Waurika cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
