Ralph Townsend, Jr. was born January 18, 1948, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Ralph and Judy Townsend and passed from this life Friday, August 31, 2001, in Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 53.

Ralph worked for the Oklahoma Highway Dept. for sixteen years, he was a member of the Church of God of Comanche. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Ralph and Judy Trantham were united in marriage August 26, 1975, in Wichita Falls, TX.

He is survived by: his wife, Judy, of the home; three sons - Ralph K. Townsend and Robert W. Hill, both of Comanche, and Douglas K. Townsend of Oklahoma City, OK; one daughter - Nina R. Chappell of Chattanooga, OK; two brothers - Gary Townsend of Phoeniz, AZ and Don Townsend of Louisville, KY; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held at Praise Assembly of God Church in Comanche, Thursday, September 6, at 11:00 AM, with Don Townsend officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
