William Howard Pug Dean

William Howard Pug Dean was born February 17, 1931, in Waurika, Oklahoma, to Walter Scott Dean and Ruby Belle Phelps Dean. He passed from this life Sunday, March 13, 2005, at the Jefferson County Hospital, at the age of seventy-four. Pug was a truck driver and was also employed by the City of Waurika, working for the water department until his retirement. He also carried the Duncan Banner for eighteen years. He and Agnes Pealor Collins were married August 14, 1990, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Survivors include: his wife, Agnes, of the home in Waurika, OK; three sons - John, Jeff, and Jimmy Dean, all of Wichita Falls, TX; two stepsons - Kim Collins of Ardmore, OK, and Bill Collins of Ringgold, TX; one daughter - Leanita; two brothers - Billy Bob Rusty and his wife Juanita Dean of Waurika, OK, and James and his wife Mo Dean of Ft. Cobb, OK; three sisters - Betty June Hoglan of Copperas Cove, TX; Roberta and her husband Phil Bush of Waurika, OK, and Virginia and her husband Ruben Mora of Waurika, OK; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two aunts - Letha Sumpter and Claudia Guy, both of Waurika, OK; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services for Mr. Dean were at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at the Waurika United Methodist Church with Noel Curington officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Waurika Senior Citizens Center or the Waurika Nutrition Center.
