Preston Morgan, eighty-nine, was a life long resident of Jefferson County who died Monday, November 21, 2005, at the Ryan Nursing Home. He was born October 18, 1916, east of Waurika, Oklahoma. He was the second of three children born to George and Myrtie Morgan. He lived on the family farm east of Waurika until his mother died in May of 1972., then he divided his time with his bother Cecil and sister Viola Roebuck. In October, 1989, Cecil passed away and Preston lived in the Ryan Nursing Home the rest of his life. Preston was a member of the Waurika Church of Christ and also the Ryan Church of Christ. He attended a country school, Linwood, east of Waurika.

Survivors include: a sister - Viola Roebuck and her husband Arville of Waurika, OK; three nieces - Carolyn Beaver and Barbara Dennard of Waurika, OK, and Janice Jones of Duncan, OK; and a nephew - Don Roebuck also of Duncan, OK.

Graveside services for Mr. Morgan were at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 23, 2005, at the Waurika Cemetery with Noel Curington officiating. Burial was under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Memorial contributions may be made to the Waurika Church of Christ.
