Ray "Pete" Elton Robnett
Ray "Pete" Elton Robnett passed from this life on April 18, 2017 at Duncan Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Ray was born August 29,1931 in Terral ok to Carlie and Lucille Robnett. Ray met and married the love of his life Nova Jeane Preston on April, 17, 1952. He and Nova had three children.
Ray graduated from Terral High school in 1949. While growing up he worked in the family owned garages until he went to work for Halliburton in 1963. Ray started his career sweeping floors at Halliburton and ended his career in 1991 managing over 700 employees. During his tenure with Halliburton Ray and Nova moved to Coffeyville,Kansas in 1974 . Still with Halliburton they returned to Duncan in 1982. He retired from Halliburton in 1991.
In 2009 Ray and Nova moved to Waurika, Ok to be closer to their son and his family. They enjoyed their retirement in Waurika, spending many hours working in their beautiful yard and time with life long friends.
Ray loved helping his community. He served on the Coffeyville, Kansas school board from 1978-1982. He also donated his time and welding skills in the building of the Duncan Boys and Girls club and the Duncan Christmas exhibits in Fuqua park.
The true passion of Ray's life was his family, wife, kids, grandkids and great grandkids . He rarely missed a grandchild's school assembly, sporting event or birthday. Ray and Nova spent many years of their retirement taking their grandchildren on numerous fishing , camping and road trips.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brother RD Robnett. Ray is survived by children Ray Robnett, Jr and wife Cindy, Waurika ,Rebecca Collins and husband Lorenzo , Ardmore , Debra Keith and husband James Oolagah Okla. Three grandchildren Casey Robnett and wife Sheila Bella Vista Arkansas, Jessica Thompson and husband Eric, Waurika, Okla , Ryan Benson and wife Candace Washington, Oka. . Seven great grandchildren Hudson Robnett, Owen Robnett, Preston Robnett, Bella Vista Arkansas , Evan Davis, Addison Thompson , Griffin Thompson, Waurika, Oklahoma and Haskell Ryan Benson, Washington, Oklahoma. One bother James Robnett and family ,Duncan, Ok.
Graveside service will be at 10:30AM on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Terral Cemetery with Robert Teague officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 9AM-5PM and Friday from 9AM-8PM with family receiving visitors from 6-7PM at Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika.
