Royce Pete Niblett

Royce Pete Niblett was born April 11, 1925, in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, to Jewel and Lonnie Faye Niblett. He passed from this life July 8, 2003, at the age of seventy-eight, at the United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas. Mr. Niblett married Lavelle Masoner Bridges in March of 1987 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He and Lavelle were members of the Holliday Ramblers and they did extensive traveling. He was a field supervisor for Halliburton and retired in 1985. He was a member of the Hastings Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Lavelle Niblett of the home in Hastings, OK; three step-daughters - Peggy Cryer of Dayton, TX, Kathy Lewis of Memphis, TN, and Gaye Leseney of Hastings, OK; four sisters - Betty Pollick of Nacogdoches, TX, Wyonoma Votau of Madera, CA, Mary Jones of Duncan, OK, and Doris Faye Davis of Cloves, CA; one brother - Charlie Niblett of Eldorado, TX; six step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Jean Rowe, on January 23, 1986, his parents, Jewel and Lonnie Faye Niblett, three brothers, Travis, Clarence, and Junior, and one sister, Billie Ruth.

Funeral services for Mr. Niblett were at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 11, 2003, at the Hastings Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Coleman officiating. Burial was in the Hastings Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Pallbearers were Orville Dikes, Kenny Smith, Mel Reid, Ronnie Bohot, Dewayne Smith, and Kenneth Rupe. Memorial contributions may be made to Hastings Baptist Church or the Hastings Cemetery Association.
