Peggy Earlene (McLemore) Bacon
Peggy Earlene (McLemore) Bacon, 79, of Addington, Oklahoma, passed from this life Tuesday, March 22, 2016, in Duncan, Oklahoma. She was born June 2, 1936, in Addington, to Earl and Grace (Franks) McLemore. She was salutatorian of her class at Addington High School and a member of the Addington Rangerettes basketball team. She was a member of the Addington Baptist Church where she had served as a Sunday school teacher. She was an avid fan of her beloved Oklahoma Sooners.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband John Floyd "Sonny" Bacon, Jr., her parents Earl and Grace McLemore, and one sister Wanda Roden.
Survivors include: her children Sunny Dayle and Danny Bacon and his wife Denise, all of Addington, OK; grandchildren Aaron Wheeler and his wife Lisa of Addington, OK, and Sarah and her husband Chad Durbin of Waurika, OK; great-grandchildren Tristan and Legend Durbin and Gavyn Wheeler; and nieces Debbie Sanchez and Myrlene Hopkins.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at the Addington Baptist Church with Dee Bowen and Jason Ebenhack officiating. Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche, Oklahoma under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Pallbearers will be Jerry Smith, Kenny Wall, Aaron Wheeler, Chad Durbin, Mike Bates and Billy Gilmore. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika.
