Pauline Chambers Hammond Mays

Pauline Chambers Hammond Mays was born October 30, 1915 in Ryan, Oklahoma to George and Ona Chambers. She passed from this life October 25, 2012 at the Lakes Nursing Home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She owned her own sewing machine sales store in Oklahoma City in the 1950's and also worked at Oklahoma City Furniture and Rug during the 40's and 50's. She was also a real estate agent. She retired to Duncan where she became an excellent artist. She married Morris Hammond and Othella Mays. She made her home in Oklahoma City from 1942-1962, Port Arthur from 1962-1977, Duncan from 1977-2006 until her health began to fail, she then moved back to Oklahoma City to live with her son and his wife until she went to live at the nursing home earlier this year.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; her granddaughter - Ashley D. Hammond, her parents, her two brothers - George Chambers and Charles Chambers, and one sister - Edith Hundley.
She is survived by two sons - James O. Hammond and wife Judy of Tulsa and Don "Jerry" Hammond and wife Jackie Patterson of Oklahoma City, daughter - Diane Culpepper and her husband Otis of Lindsay, Oklahoma, sister - Doris Chambers Gordon of Tucson, Arizona, grandchildren - Curtis Hammond, Karen Hammond, Linda John, Allison Hammond, Stephen Box, Jeff Box and wife Elise, Damon Hammond, and Derek Hammond, seven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
Funeral service will be Monday, October 29, 2012 at 10:00AM at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika with Rev. Debbie Kerr officiating. Burial will be in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Visitation will be from 2-6PM Sunday.
