Pauline Sanderson Kennedy

Born March 26, 1914, in Sanger, Texas, Pauline was the fifth child of seven born to Walter Fagan and Lela Evelyn, Burris Sanderson. The family moved southwest of Waurika, Oklahoma, later the same year where she grew up and attended Rocky Knob and Waurika Schools. She married Vernon Kennedy May 24, 1934, in Waurika and they made their home in Ryan, Oklahoma. Several moves later they settled in Santa Clara, California in 1954. They returned to Waurika in August of 1972. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, two brothers, Walter and Jack Sanderson, three sisters, Juanita Huffman, Leola Qualls, and Luella King, and a son-in-law Jim Estes.

Survivors include: a sister, Mabel Frost of Waurika, OK; four daughters - Peggy and her husband Al Cano of Lincoln, CA, Jo Ann Estes and Sherry Lopez, both of Waurika, OK, and Vickie and her husband Scott Barger of Henrietta, TX; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Kennedy were at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Waurika, with Robert Jacobson officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Wichita Falls, Texas.
