Patsy June Bolton, 67, of Comanche, formerly of Marlow, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 11, 2002, in the Jefferson County Hospital in Waurika, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Bolton was born in Rush Springs, Oklahoma, on September 20, 1934, to Jessie Pauline Latham. She attended Rush Springs school all twelve years of her education. She married Lewis Bolton in Chickasha, Oklahoma, on October 20, 1952. He preceded her in death in December of 1994. Pat was a homemaker and a former owner with her husband of Capital Grocery in Rush Springs. She was a longtime member of Fifth Street Baptist Church in Marlow, where she served in various capacities in service to the Lord, including Sunday School teacher for the Junior Girls Department. Mrs. Bolton was a member of the Countryside Baptist Church following her move to Comanche in 1995, to be near her son after failing health and the death of her husband. She served as office manager for the Comanche Times newspaper for a period following her move to Comanche. She was a very special lady who had the gift to make a person's day brighter for all those who had the privelege to know her and love her.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Kelli Bolton of Comanche; two aunts - Lucille and Janice Latham of Rush Springs, OK; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law - Ernest and Glennace Bolton of Marlow, OK; three sisters-in-law - Ruth Bolton of Marlow, OK, Inez Fletcher of Guthrie, OK, and Lucille Mac of Cocoa, FL; nieces; nephews; cousins; and cherished lifelong and new friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bolton were Friday, March 15, 2002, at 2:00 PM, at the First Baptist Church in Comanche with Bro. Gary Smith and Bro. Jimmy Ferguson officiating. Burial was in the Marlow Cemetery, under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
Pallbearers were Ron Baldwin, Charles Harris, Johnny Byres, Burl Neighbors, Earl Sandlin, and Dale Garner. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Bowles, Bobby McGarr, Danny Moore, Johnny Brown, William Brown, John Weldon Brown, Larry Jones, Jack Mefford, Henry Christian, and Doyle Hix.
