Patrick Michael Copeland

Patrick Michael Copeland, 32, of Lawton, Oklahoma, passed from this life January 2, 2018. He was born November 30, 1985, in Waurika, Oklahoma, to Pamela Lee Copeland.
Patrick grew up in Waurika, where he received perfect attendance kindergarten through his high school graduation. He was an Eagle scholar, received Masonic Lodge scholarship and various other awards. Patrick was a member of the National Honor Society, FCCLA and Spanish club. Upon graduation, Patrick attended Cameron University where he was a Senior Library Associate and was a member of the Phi Sigma Iota. He received an Associates Degree in Linguistics, a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master of Science Degree.There he was an instructor of Spanish, Latin and various workshops on campus for twelve years, from 2005 to the present. Patrick was working on his PhD at the time of his death. Patrick's mentors Dr. Paul Stanley, Brenda Honeycutt and Dr. Sherry Young played a vital roll in his education at Cameron University. Patrick loved teaching. His co-workers, staff and students were of utmost importance to him. If you knew Patrick, you would agree that he had a heart of gold and a smile that would light up a room! Patrick loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was the best friend you could ask for. Patrick's love for his mother was one to cherish. When not reading or studying, you might find him at the movies, playing Pokemon Go or shopping at the mall.
Patrick was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dr. Lee Pullen and Mrs. Esther Pullen, and his aunt Patricia Ann Pullen.
Survivors include: his mother Pamela Lee Copeland; brother Jason Copass and his wife, Kate of Elgin, OK; sister Candi Copass-Bridges and her husband Dr. Trace Bridges four nephews - Bronson and Jax Bridges, and Brock and Maverick Copass.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at the Lawton Ritter Gray Chapel in Lawton.
