Opal Pauline (Brantley) Stanley

Opal Pauline (Brantley) Stanley, 97, of Waurika, Oklahoma, passed from this life June 29, 2019. She was born September 16, 1921, in Waurika, Oklahoma, to Fieldon Ervin and Matilda Nancy (Jackson) Brantley. She married Bruce Stanley June 3, 1939, in Duncan, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death September 9, 2006.
She was the Valedictorian of her class at Sugden High School. She worked on the family farm/ranch alongside her husband and for many years as a line supervisor for Haggar Manufacturing, She was a popular seamstress for many Waurika and Jefferson County citizens. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Waurika where she enjoyed helping with funeral meals.
She is preceded in death by her parents Fieldon and Matilda Brantley, her husband Bruce Stanley, one sister Odell Yearley Medley, and one grandson.
Survivors include: three sons - Jerry Bruce Stanley and his wife Linda of Walters, OK, Dennis Charles Stanley and his wife Dana of Duncan, OK, and Jimmie Don Stanley and his wife Laura of Norman, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Waurika with Rusty Stowe and Bruce Humphries officiating. Burial will be in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Visitation will be Monday, July 1, 2019, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Chisholm Trail Hospice or First Baptist Church of Waurika.
The family would like to express their appreciation to care givers Stan Richardson, Betty Guzman, Laura Tuttle and the entire staff of Chisholm Trail Hospice who each, unselfishly, provided excellent care for Opal in her time of illness.
