Olan Douglas Parkhill
Olan Douglas Parkhill better known as "Paw" to most passed away Monday, May 31, 2010 at the age of eighty six. Doug was born June 14, 1923 in Montague, Texas to Wallace and Tina Foster Parkhill. Doug served his country in the United States Navy on an aircraft carrier. He worked as a pumper in the oil field and for Jefferson County as foreman when he retired. He also worked for the fish and game commission which he enjoyed most of all. He and Betty Jo Stewart were married January 17, 1947 in Henrietta, Texas. Doug was an avid gardner and he loved to fish. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids.
He is survived by his wife Betty of the home in Ryan, children - Robert Parkhill and wife Wilma of Duncan, Oklahoma, Nelda McKee of Soper, Oklahoma, Tina Marie Ramirez and husband of Luis of Ryan, Oklahoma; Grandchildren - Kevin Parkhill and wife Nickki, Misty McKee, Chris McKee and wife Dawn, P.J. McKee, Stormi Parkhill, and Jason Parkhill; eleven great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, one brother, and son in law - David McKee.
Graveside service will be at 2:00PM Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the Grady Cemetery with Bro. Billy Rhone officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8PM. Memorials may be made to the Grady Cemetery.
