Norman Simmons

Norman Simmons was born August 31, 1949 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Earl Thomas and Katherine Bauml Simmons. He passed from this life Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at his home in Comanche.
Norman was retired from the City of Duncan after working as Lake Assistant Superintendant for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle as well as having his morning coffee with his brother Mitch. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Duncan.
He is survived by his mother - Katie SImmons, his children - Micah Simmons and wife Jackie, Dustin Smith and wife Kim, and Heather Simmons, brother - Mitch Simmons and wife Pam, 4 grandchildren - Chelsea, Lincoln, Lily and Destrie, nephews - Jake and Brandt, and niece - Brittany. He was preceded in death by his father Earl Thomas "Tom" Simmons.

Norman Simmons entered the Kingdom of Heaven on April 9, 2013. Norman was born August 31, 1949 to Earl Thomas and Katherine (Bauml) Simmons.
Norman retired from the City of Duncan after more than thirty years of service with the Lakes Department. Norman was the Duncan Lake Caretaker, and Assistant Lake Superintendent. Norman was a lifelong outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. As often as not, Norman could be found on his motorcycle, no matter the weather. More than anything, however, Norman was a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, and lived every minute of his life in service of Him. Norman was a long time member of Grace Baptist Church in Duncan, where he taught Sunday School.
Norman is preceded in death by his father, Earl Thomas Tom Simmons.
Norman is survived by his mother, two sons, Micah Simmons and wife Jackie, and Dustin Smith and wife Kimberly, a daughter, Heather Simmons, grandchildren Chelsea, Lilian, Lincoln, and Destrie, brother Mitch and wife Pam, nephews Brandt and Jake, and niece Brittany. The family will gather for remembrance and a meal at Grace Baptist Church, located at 9th and Park in Duncan, after the morning services on Sunday, April 14, 2013. All are welcome. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Grace Baptist in his name.
