Norma Sue Mitchell was born September 29, 1933, in Poole, Kentucky, to Forest and Ester Higgs Stone. She passed from this Monday, December 1, 2008, at the Jefferson County Hospital in Waurika, Oklahoma, at the age of seventy-five. Norma and Troy Mitchell were married November 11, 1955, in Emporia, Virginia. She was a homemaker and a nurse's aide. She loved to work in her yard and feed her birds, especially the hummingbirds. She also enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels and helping people in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: her husband Troy Mitchell of the home in Waurika, OK; four daughters - Barbara Sue Helmick of Charleston, WV, Brenda Wertz of Davidsville, PA, Thelma Lasseter of Wichita Falls, TX, and Linda Morgan of Wichita Falls, TX; three sisters - Geraldine Whitaker and Joanne Williams, both of Wichita Falls,TX, and Martha Gene Cardwell of Evansville, IN; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mitchell will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika. Burial will be in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with the family receiving visitors from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.
