Noah Abraham Kennedy

Noah Abraham Kennedy was born December 25, 1913, in Hewitt, Oklahoma, to William M. and Stella Melissa Gunter Kennedy. He passed from this life Sunday, January 8, 2006, at his home in Waurika, at the age of ninety-two. Mr. Kennedy was a farmer and rancher. He also drove a bus for the Waurika School District for twenty-five years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waurika. Mr. Kennedy married Eula Mae Durham August 5, 1935, in Waurika, Oklahoma. She passed away February 1, 2004.

Survivors include: one daughter, Patricia and her husband Bill Southerland of Midland, TX; five grandchildren - Kennedy, Marsha, Nancy, Tricia, and Abe; and six great-grandchildren - Tara, James, Heather, Nolan, Blake and Heath.

Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one son, Noah A. Kennedy, II, and four brothers.

Funeral services for Mr. Kennedy were at 1:30 PM, Thursday, January 12, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in Waurika, with Rev. Audie Dorrough officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Meal Fund or the Chisholm Trail Historical Museum in Waurika.
