Nelda Nadine Doyal

Nelda Nadine Doyal was born May 19, 1927 in Ryan, Oklahoma to Tom B. and Annie Cleo Bussey Smith. Nelda passed from this life Sunday, July 5, 2009 at the Jefferson County Hospital at the age of eighty-two.  She worked as a seam buster for Haggar Slacks in Temple for over fifteen years and owned and operated the Big Sky Cafe in Ryan for a year and a half. She was also a homemaker, a member of the Terral Assembly of God, and a gold star mother in the American Legion. Nelda and Hosey Earl Hood were married in Wichita Falls, Texas in 1944.  He preceded her in death.  She married Jasper Levi "Dick" Doyal on September 10, 1960 in Ryan. He also preceded her in death.
 
She is survived by her children - Jeannie Johnson, Jackie Hood, Jessie Hood, and Tommy Doyal, sisters Fern Rogers and brother Aldine Smith, thirty grandchildren and several great grandchildren.   
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands - Hosey and Dick, brother - J.T. Smith, sons - Danny Earl Hood, Johnny Hood, and Arthur Lee Hood, and granddaughter Brenda Cleo.
 
Funeral service will be Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 1:30PM at the Terral Assembly of God with Bro. Floyd Key and Bro. Charles Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan.  Visitation will be from noon - 8PM on Tuesday at the funeral home in Ryan. (612 Washington)
